Pest Monitoring in the Garden:

When using the biological agent Trichogramma for plant protection, pest monitoring is key to success. It is crucial to accurately determine the start of flight and mass egg-laying, as Trichogramma parasitizes the eggs of pests.

The main tools for pest monitoring are pheromone and light traps, but for the garden, the most suitable method is visual control (evening time with light from a lamp).

In the months of March, April, and until mid-May, due to low night temperatures (no higher than +15°C), pests are active during the day, meaning their flight can be observed.

For the most effective biological control with Trichogramma, our recommendation is that once the initial flight is established on fruit trees, vegetables, in greenhouses, and other crops in the “Crops” section of the website, Trichogramma colonization should be done within 3 days. – Trichogramma is a biological agent for plant protection that targets pests at the egg stage by parasitizing their eggs.

– Trichogramma is ineffective against larvae that have already hatched.

Are your Trichogramma products effective?

Laboratory studies conducted in late 2023 by the renowned European laboratory Eurofins show that Trichogramma reduced corn borer populations by up to 84.2% and cotton bollworm by up to 82.8% on corn treated three times with Trichogramma produced by Organic Invest Bio Protection.

Moreover, the same laboratory confirmed and issued a document stating that experimental fields treated with Trichogramma showed 0% presence of deadly mycotoxins – harmful fungal microorganisms often found in corn – after the fourth treatment.
